APPRAISAL AND BUSINESS BROKERAGE EXPERIENCE:
Jeff is President of Advanced Business Brokers. Since 1976, he has been involved in appraising and selling small to midsize businesses, including manufacturing, distribution, retail and service companies. He and his staff have sold over 1,000 businesses in Texas and the Southwest United States.
As President of Certified Appraisers, Inc., he manages the firm’s multi-discipline appraisal practice, including the valuation of businesses, machinery and equipment, and real estate. He frequently testifies in depositions and courts of law as an expert witness on valuation issues. His clients include closely held companies, publicly-held companies, the IRS and other governmental agencies.
As a member of SCORE, the U. S. Small Business Administration’s business consulting group, Jeff serves as an instructor and counselor for entrepreneurs starting new businesses, or helping existing business owners improve their profitability.

WORK EXPERIENCE:
During his 25 plus year career in business brokerage, Dick has personally appraised and sold over several hundred businesses. Dick is one of the few business brokers in the nation who has both accreditations of Certified Business Appraiser (CBA) and Master Merger & Acquisition Intermediary (MM&AI). Dick is the business broker “who other brokers typically turn to for advice”.
Dick is a Senior Broker and manages the Clear Lake Office for Advanced Business Brokers, Houston, Texas. Dick’s focus is in the sale of manufacturing, service, and distribution businesses located in the Southwest having gross sales from 1 to 25 million dollars He has helped hundred’s of buyers realize their dream of owning a business.
Prior to joining Advanced Business Brokers, Dick was Senior Partner and President of Certified Business Brokers, Houston, Texas, which is one of the oldest and largest business brokerage companies in the Southwest. Dick was responsible for directing the company’s activities in business sales and appraisals of closely held businesses in the price range of $500,000 to $10,000,000. Industries served by CBB covered a broad range of businesses including retail, service, distribution, and manufacturing. Dick sold his interest in CBB in 2005 to focus on merger and acquisitions activities.

Eiric Skaaren, BA, Master of Law

Eiric holds a Master’s Degree in Law from Oslo University and a Bachelor of Management Degree from BI School of Management in Norway. In addition, Eiric is currently working on an MBA degree specializing in M&A.
BUSINESS BROKERAGE EXPERIENCE:
Before joining Advanced Business Brokers, Eiric was working as CEO for a private equity company in New York. Since 1996, he has been involved in selling midsize to large size businesses, including manufacturing, upstream oil & gas, electrical infrastructure, renewable energy, and service companies. In addition to working in M&A projects, Eiric has handled the sale of several chapter 11 cases in Houston.
As M&A Broker for Advanced Business Brokers Inc., Eiric will be handling the sale of small to midsize business, as well as conducting valuation of businesses, machinery and equipment, and real estate. His clients include closely held companies, publicly-held companies, the IRS and other governmental agencies. A native of South Carolina, Jim served 4 years on active duty as a Naval Flight Officer following graduation from Duke University with a degree in Business. After completing deployments with the Navy’s Carrier Air Wing 3 to the Mediterranean & Viet Nam, he was honorably discharged & completed graduate school at the Medical College of Virginia, where he graduated with a Master of Health Administration in 1976.
He began his 30-year career in health administration with the Riverside Healthcare Association in Newport News, Virginia, & served there as the Administrator of the organization’s first satellite hospital & later as Vice President of Corporate Services. He then served as Associate Administrator of a large HCA hospital in Knoxville, TN & later as Administrator of a Specialty Surgical Hospital in Atlanta GA owned by Charter Medical. He was awarded Fellowship in the American College of Healthcare Executives in 1986.
Jim later returned to his native South Carolina to accept a position as Administrator of a suburban hospital of the Greenville Hospital System. Prior to moving to Houston, TX, he worked in hospital development for 2 Long Term Acute Care hospital companies: Transitional Hospitals Corporation & Cornerstone Health Care.
Jim’s career in Houston has consisted of assignments with HCA as Chief Operations Officer of West Houston Medical Center & with Triumph Healthcare as Vice President of Hospital Operations.
As Dover & Associates since 2006, Jim consulted on hospital startup operations, financial turnarounds, profitability enhancement, Customer Service & Teambuilding with a number of regional & national clients. He has served as interim CEO for several specialty hospitals in rehabilitation, long term acute care & behavioral medicine.
In 2010-2012, Jim became a real estate investor, flipping houses & becoming a limited partner in several apartment complexes.
Between 2012 & 2018, Jim served as President of Advanced Medical Resources, LLC an interoperative neuromonitoring company based in Sugar Land Texas.
After acquiring a real estate license in 2019, he worked in the single-family home investor market until joining Advanced Business Brokers in September, 2020. He is a member of The Texas Association of Business Brokers.
